Univ.-Prof. Mag. Martin Poltrum
Martin Poltrum is a philosopher, psychotherapist, training therapist, author, editor and professor of psychotherapy science.
From 2003 to 2018 he worked as a clinical philosopher, psychotherapist and cinematherapist at the Anton Proksch Institute in Vienna and has been editor-in-chief and managing editor of since 2012. From October 2018 to February 2026, he directed first the international and then the German-language doctoral program in psychotherapy science at the Sigmund Freud Private University Vienna.
Furthermore, Martin Poltrum was Vice President (2016-2018) and Secretary General (2008-2016) of the European Society for Aesthetic Medicine and completed a research stay at the University of Oxford in 2018, from which the Oxford Handbook of Mental Health and Contemporary Western Aesthetics emerged.
He has authored over 150 scientific publications and is pleased to have been fully available to his patients in private psychotherapeutic and philosophical practice since March 2026, bringing his beloved subjects, psychotherapy and philosophy, to a new level of clinical mastery.
