Biofeedback – The connection between body perception and self-regulation
biofeedback is a scientifically based procedure that makes physical processes visible and specifically controllable. Using modern sensors, physiological functions such as heart rate, respiration, muscle tension, skin conductance, and body temperature are measured in real time and visualized on a screen. Patients learn to perceive and actively regulate their body's unconscious reactions—an effective method for promoting relaxation, self-control, and physical and mental stability.
As part of our therapeutic work at Las Almas We use biofeedback specifically – for example through:
- Breathing trainingto improve heart rate variability and calm the autonomic nervous system
- Muscle relaxation techniquesto relieve chronic tension and tension headaches
- Mental training and visualizationsto influence vegetative reactions (e.g. sweating, trembling, restlessness)
- Stress management exercisesto react more calmly in challenging situations
Areas of application
Biofeedback is used successfully in various fields, including:
- Stress and burnout prevention
- Anxiety and panic disorders
- Migraine and tension headache
- Sleep disorders and inner restlessness
- High blood pressure (essential hypertension)
- chronic pain and functional complaints
- Attention deficit disorders (ADHD)
- Performance optimization in sports – e.g. to improve concentration, regeneration and mental strength
Biofeedback is non-invasive, painless, and for many patients, a motivating method to actively participate in their health. As part of a multimodal treatment concept, we combine Las Almas Biofeedback with modern therapy, medical diagnostics, and integrative procedures – individually tailored to your needs.
